Itinerary Description
Day 1: Cusco – Amazon Pona Lodge.
We leave from Cusco at 5:30AM by our private van, first stopping to visit the pre Inca burial towers of Ninamarca. We then drive through the mountains to Tres Cruces, the highest point and entrance to Manu National Park. From here we will continue into the Cloud Forest and at fog forest we will explore for around 3 to 4 hours to observe the National bird of Peru, (the cock of the rock), the biggest monkey in Peru (woolly monkeys) and to observe different types of bromeliads and beautiful orchids, then we arrive to our lodge where we will sleep in our beautiful and rustic lodge.

Meals: Lunch (Box Lunch) Dinner.

Day 2: Amazon Pona Lodge – Papaya Eco Lodge (Boat ride and Night expedition)
At daybreak, after breakfast we continue by bus to tropical lowland rainforest, stopping along the way to visit a coca and banana plantations. Arriving at the small village Atalaya at 650m, we change into a motorized canoe to navigate down the fast Alto Madre de Dios River, with all equipment (life jackets) to our Ecological Reserve, along the boat trip, we can see a variety of birds, such as herons, Kingfisher and always the presence of vultures of which the most spectacular is the condor of the jungle, the king of vultures (Sarcoramphus papa) we also have a stop in natural hot springs, to take medicinal baths.
We will walk in the afternoon until evening in our Ecological Reserve (included night expedition) to see tarantulas, different types of spiders, poisonous frogs, tree frogs, snakes, alligators, night monkeys, armadillos and boas.

Day 3: Papaya Eco Lodge - Camouflaged Shelter (Mammals Clay Lick)
This day after breakfast we will start walking through the jungle to the deep part, in the way to the mammals clay lick we will see Monkeys like Brown Cappuchins Monkey, titi Monkey, squirril Mokeys, Howler monkeys, birds such as eagles, parrots, macaws, woodpeckers, toucans, medicinal plants, flowers, and the giant trees of the jungle.
this night we will spend at our Tapirs and Deers Clay Lick. This Camouflaged shelter is strategically located near to the Clay Lick to observe theTapir (the bigest mammal in the amazon) , Deers, and to enjoy the jungle sounds during all night time. Night at our Camouflaged Hut watching nocturnal animals and to enjoy the mixed sounds of the jungle (protected by mosquitos net)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 4: Camouflaged Shelter - Cusco.
We will leave early from our shelter to visit the parrots, parakeets and mini macaws clay lick and after breakfast we will return to the port of Atalaya by boat where our private van will be waiting to take us back to Cusco.
We return to Cusco via the cloud forest and Paucartambo. We will arrive back in Cusco in the late afternoon.

Note: If we didn´t see the Andean cook of the rock the first day in the afternoon, we can visit the last day in the morning.

Important Note: The order of the activities mentioned in this program may change according to weather conditions. In the Jungle the climate is highly unpredictable, especially during rainy season, and weather conditions may affect the program as the animals as well are affected in their daily activities by the rain. Don’t hesitate to talk with your guide about it to maybe change the order of the activities or find alternative things to do in case of extremely bad weather! And remember, we have no responsibilities on climate and on the amount of animals that you will see: enjoy the jungle and good luck!
